141.7 milligrams of niacin, rather than niacinamide. One of niacin's nutritional side-effects is an enhanced blood supply in the skin. This is called the niacin "flush". The level of niacin in Easy Swallow Niacin Plus may cause the flush in as many as 1 out of 4 people. It is usually characterized by a warm transient reddening of the skin that may last about 30 minutes to more than an hour. The flush may bring some itching and may be followed by a slight passing chill as the enhanced blood flow returns to normal. Quite often, after regular supplementation, the flush may diminish. Some people, however, continue to flush regularly.
